From June 1796, Andreossy commanded the bridging train of the Army of Italy. He served on the Expedition to Egypt and returned to France with General Bonaparte. Afterwards, he primarily fufilled administration and diplomatic roles, notably as ambassador to Great Britain during the Peace of Amiens, assistant chief of staff to Berthier in 1805, ambassador to Austria 1808 to 1809, and ambassador to the Ottoman Empire from 1812 to 1814.
